Excellent communication with the owner. the view from our room was glorious, and we enjoyed staying in for dinner. the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. the owner went the extra mile by providing a welcome pack with some essentials, such as milk and bread. the cleanliness of the place was outstanding, and we felt comfortable and at home during our stay.
The remote location meant that finding a nearby restaurant required a 10-20 minute drive. the security light outside the door was a bit annoying as it would turn on every time we wanted to stargaze at night.

Had a blast hiking and fishing, although I'm not much of an outdoorsy person. Free parking, yay! Sinclair's Bay was only 35 km away, so close, I practically lived there. Wick was 22 km away, imagine my excitement!
Oh, I just loved driving all the way to a restaurant every time. So convenient.

I had an amazing stay at a beautiful and well-appointed garden apartment with a amazing panoramic view of the sea and bay. The hosts, Lynsey and Mark, have thought of every little detail, from the comfortable bed to the fantastic shower to the fully equipped kitchen. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. The hosts even provided a generous breakfast spread with snacks, bread, jams, cereal, and fresh eggs from their own chickens. The location was perfect, secluded and safe, with easy access to explore the ocean bluffs and castle ruins. I couldn't fault my experience at Castle Shieling. It was a true gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and scenic place to stay.
